What Are the Best Superfoods?

In this article we’ll talk about just what are the best superfoods out there. I believe there is few parent categories that are essential to any health and fitness goals. These foods are those that can actually help people lose weight and burn fat and at the same time they contain essential nutrients that can help the body function properly.

Also known as superfoods for weight loss, these foods should be included in the daily regimen of those who want to shed off some pounds and live a healthy lifestyle. Not only are they beneficial for weight loss however, they will save your heart. Heart disease kills thousands of people around the world each year. Even though we realise that eating healthy foods that are nutrient dense can reduce the risk, we may no know which foods are the best to battle this widespread disease.

Below is a category of superfoods to eat for those who want to burn fat, lose weight and just be generally healthier.

Whole grains.

Whole grains such as oatmeal and brown rice are good sources of complex carbohydrates which provides longer lasting energy for the body. Unlike simple carbs such as refined sugar and white bread, complex carbs burn longer and do not get stored easily as fat in the body. Whole grains will also help you feel full sooner and longer so you will be able to avoid overeating.

Wholegrain foods and products such as barley, oats, breads, rice and pasta are rich in soluble fibre, excellent for preventing constipation, and increased circulation. They also contain good amounts of protein, iron and minerals for more muscle strength. Opting for oatmeal, wholegrain cereals, pasta and rice will provide you with longer lasting energy and make you feel fuller longer.

Legumes

Beans (similar to the effect of wholegrains, but probably easier to digest for most, have been known as a superfood for a long time know. They provide you with essential nutrients such as plant protein and are high in fibre and have no fat or cholesterol. Add them frequently to salads, and hot dishes for extra taste and texture.

Lean meats

These are good sources of protein which is beneficial in developing muscles. Having developed lean muscles can help in burning stored body fat. Chicken and fish are good sources of lean protein.

Fish is rich in omega 3 fatty acids such as Sardines, salmons, mackerel are all great sources of heart protecting unsaturated fats. Grill them or ad canned versions to salads or sandwiches, as a healthy alternative to meat. Oily fish also contain calcium, niacin and selenium which is an antioxidant that help protect the body from cancer.

Nuts and seeds

Nuts, seeds and olives and oils (olive, canola, sunflower, flaxseed) are also an excellent source of omega 3 fatty acid. Grab a handful as a snack or add a tablespoon to a healthy salad for extra flavour and crunch.

Fruits and vegetables.

Apart from providing necessary vitamins and minerals to the body, fruits and vegetables also provide fiber which can help cleanse the body and remove toxins from it. Eating fiber in every meal also help people to moderate their food intake because of its bulking and filling properties.

Water.

Though technically not a food, water is essential in weight loss. Many people neglect drinking the necessary amount of water everyday which should be a minimum of 2-3 litres per day.

As you can see it’s not difficult to include these foods in your daily fat burning diet. Make these best superfoods a staple in your diet. Put simply, eating more fibre dense foods and choosing foods that contain unsaturated fats, will help greatly. Soluble fibre found in wholegrain, legumes, fruits and vegetables help cleanse your system and decrease your bad cholesterol. Where as essential fatty acids found in unsaturated fats like olive oil can help reduce fat producing triglycerides. Botton line, all these heart healthy diet superfoods will help anyone.
